Lake Placid Camp!!!

July 23, 2008

So I’m writing this blog at 3:14am because I’m so wired from working so much this week.

What am I working on you ask?  Well if you don’t know-I have a recording studio called Inertia Sound Studio and I am relocating into a new building.  But before I can move in I have to build walls, paint the walls, and paint the walls and paint the walls, lots of coats of paint…and then after that I have to install the wood floors and then move all my gear in before the 1st of August.

Lets just say that I’m running on all cylinders these next couple weeks to have it ready for bands that are coming in.

But anyway enough about that…. camp in Lake Placid with the high school group from First Baptist of Naples ROCKED!!!!! All the camps we have done so far have rocked but this one might have topped them all.   And the reason why is that I was able to go wakeboarding!!! I grew up on a lake and have been waterskiing since I was very young so this was a treat for me.  And if it doesn’t get any better than that-Chris got up on the wakeboard his first time!!!  It was great!  Ben also got a little action on the wakeboard too and tried to jump but he hit pretty hard. I wish we had video footage but our camera wasnt working b/c of all the moisture from the rain.

So if we are ever in your hometown and you wakeboard-hit me up and I’ll ride with you.  It’s pretty much one of my favorite things to do:) It would make my day!

Love you guys!

Camp…week 1 (Panama City)

July 8, 2008

Last week we were in Panama City Beach for Idlewild Baptist’s High School camp and I must tell you that I did not step foot on the beach all week even though we were 100 feet from it.  Probably b/c I dislike the sand that sticks to you and won’t come off, or the burning sensation from the salt water in your eyes, or the blazing sun baking my skin until it peels off.:)

Ok so I am being a little over the top but I grew up on a lake in a small town called Frostproof.  I love fresh water and wakeboarding!!!!  I can be on the lake all day long and it never gets old.

Camp went great, God showed up and changed lives and set us all more on fire for Him.  We have already got a bunch of testimonies posted on our myspace.

Chris and I can’t wait to hang with all of our peeps again from Idlewild.  Hopefully sooner than later.  We love you guys!!!  Keep going after God and waste your life for Him!!!

Here’s a funny story…

While we were there, a funny thing happened while we were out eating at Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville.  I have been getting comments from people lately that I resemble American Idol Winner-David Cook  and Chris and I have been mistaken for Maroon 5 but I think it’s just the haircut.  So anyway, our waitress asked Matt(our guitarist) if I was David Cook, he replied that I was not and that we were in a band and we were playing down the street at a camp.  Usually we would leave it there and be on our merry way but that night we were feeling adventurous.  So I told Chris to sign a napkin with the autograph-David Cook-and that Matt would hand it to the waitress as we walk away and see what she would do.  Matt hands it to her and says here you go, he wanted you to have this and that he really didn’t want to draw attention.  Our waitress starts shaking with excitement when she looks at the napkin and freaks out.  So if you are ever in Panama City, go by the Jimmy Buffets and you might see a napkin hanging on the wall with David Cooks autograph:)
